Youth Development Organisation Tanzania.
The YDO was born from the needs of the local community
to provide help for young people and women living with
HIV/Aids. For too long these young individuals had been
looking ‘outward’ for help, instead of looking
‘inward’ to the community itself. The YDO
through the local community wants to make training and
education available so that these young people and women
will become self-sufficient and build their own future.
Since its inception and registration in 2007, the YDO
has carried out and accomplished a range of social economic
and investment projects with great success. It has had
a huge impact on the local communities in Ikuna ward,
Iringa and Tanga. Courses ran by the YDO include
tailoring & sewing for youth and adults, carpentry,
computer, HIV/Aids awareness, & rural electrification.
They also provide sponsorship for young people to attend
primary and secondary eduacation. |
