Take the Money and Run
This female fronted quintet specialise in allowing sparklingly
melodic song writing to shine through walls of unclassifiable,
truly alternative noise. Their energetic and unpredictable
lives shows have been said to spark audiences into bipolar
musical mood swings from stunned silenced awe, to air
punching crescendos; mixed with the occasional bout of
arthymic dancing to pulsating country beats.
Together with one of the most breathtaking and distinctive
voices in Ireland, synthesisers, electronically bowed
strings; pianos, flutes, cornets and even the occasional
banjo have all made their way into Take the Money and
Run's multi-instrumentalist shows. The group fuse the
intense melancholic emotions of their songs with the infectious
enjoyment of their performance seamlessly.
The band have shared bills with the likes of Fighting
With Wire, CODES, Ham Sandwich and The Jane Bradfords,
and have played venues such as Tripod,The Village, Kennedys,
The Purty Kitchen, The Spirit Store, UCD's Student Bar,
Radio City, and an impressive appearence at the State
/ AU Magazine showcase event in Dublin's Purty Loft. |
