Soma
Forming in 2010 by local lads hailing from the Dundalk/Ardee
area, SOMA spent the early days of their life experimenting
with their sound and structure. They were dissatisfied
with the state of contemporary Irish music and rock music
in general and took it upon themselves that something
needed to change!! This change would be SOMA!! Deciding
to go back to basics, SOMA developed an original style
of their own, a true, expressive, genuine style of music.
SOMA's sound is difficult to class, ranging from influences
from all areas of music including rock, punk, metal, psychedelia
and punk. SOMA are uncontemporary hard rock, they have
their heavy moments but also know when lightness and subtly
are appropriate. After a period of fine tuning their
craft and their sound SOMA are ready to explode onto the
Irish music scene with an arsenal packed with high energy,
catchy, headbangin', melodic, durty sexy tunes!!!! With
already a number of gigs under their belt ranging from
all over the country and competition winners of the recent
Dundalk FM Bandslam. Things are looking bright and expect
to hear alot more from SOMA in the future.
