Rastachaun 7th Birthday Party

October the 2nd in the Spirit Store Dundalk sees the biggest celebration of electronic music in the North East to date.  Rastachaun, Dundalk’s very own Drum and Bass outfit have reached their 7th year of bringing real underground music to Louth.
Started by local DJs, Covert, Skinny, Rabhadh and Tunja, Rastachaun kicked off their 7 year run with a night entitled Bionic in the Clanbrassil hotel in Dundalk.  Following this successful night Rastachaun went on to host gigs in Club Hibernia, Mc Manus’s, The Park Inn, The Rugby club and of course the Spirit Store, who currently play host to Rastachaun’s long running Weekend Breaks night.
Over the years the lads have made many friends from home and abroad.  They have hosted some of the biggest names in Drum and Bass on an international level.  Some of whom include Rohan of Bassbin fame, Alpha Omega, Zero Tolerance & Beta 2, DJ Trax, Irish Drum and Bass legend Naphta, Subtle Audio recordings front man DJ Code, Irish Drum and bass.com’s founders, Beckett and Skeletor, (Skeletor has recently become part of the Rastachaun family), Kormac, Don Rosco, the list goes on and on.  The Rastachaun lads have played in every major town and city in Ireland and a few gigs in England, without a doubt putting Dundalk on the Drum and Bass map forever.
In the Spirit Store on the 2nd of October the lads will be covering all the major tunes they have been playing over the last 7 years. Covert says “it’s been quite an adventure, we never really thought it would take us to where we are today, the initial idea was to have one gig with proper club music, 7 years on we have done hundreds of gigs and parties and broken god knows how many speakers (Covert Laughs).  We are definitely proud of ourselves, bringing an underground club sound to a town that doesn’t really have any proper clubs nights; just glorified disco’s I suppose, its definitely a huge achievement”  Covert went on to say all Rastachaun DJ’s will be playing on the 2nd and that it promises to be quite a session.
Be sure to make your way down to the Spirit Store on the 2nd of October to be part of history in the making.  Doors are at 9 and there is no Door tax, so no excuses folks, a great night guaranteed.
