Jaméire
Jaméire are a five piece reggae band hailing from
Louth, Meath, Dublin and Mozambique. Expect to hear all
the Bob Marley favourites and some of the lesser known
gems when Jaméire take a trip through the early
days of ska with the likes of Simmer Down all the way
to the later hits such as Buffalo Soldier and Iron Lion
Zion. The show is mainly a tribute to the legend himself
but don't be surprised to hear a few Marley inspired classics
by the likes of Stevie Wonder or Manu Chou.
The members have all played in various different bands
throughout the country and have now been brought together
by a mutual love for the original Jamaican style of reggae.
Fronting a Wailers tribute band was a natural progression
for the lead singer/rhythm guitarist Dorian Bordalo with
his background in Samba percussion and world music. Arriving
in Navan from Mozambique via Portugal he decided to form
the band after years of hearing "Hey Bob!" on
the streets of Ireland.
Drums, Bass/lead guitars and keyboards are provided by
David Quail, Alun Smyth, Derek Murphy and Fintan Crehan
respectively. True to the original Jamaican reggae style,
Jaméire are bringing Bob Marley's message of love, freedom
and hope to these uncertain times. Its going to be a great
summer for reggae fans with Jaméire playing The
Spirit Store,Dundalk (June 8th), Boyle's of Slane (June
15th), The Body and Soul festival(22nd-24th June) and
Mcphail's of Drogheda (July 8th)
