The Henry Girls
...a very beautiful album... Bob Harris,
BBC Radio 2
A full bodied and powerfully dynamic collection..High
buoyant vocal harmonies and ebullient instrumental attack
make for stellar moments aplenty. fRoots Magazine

..Delicate harmonies and gossamer playing... a very
engaging record indeed. Hot Press, December

The Henry Girls from the picturesque village of
Malin in the Inishowen Peninsula, County Donegal, have
a unique sound which blends classic Traditional Irish
Folk music with a hint of Americana, a nod to bluegrass
and many more besides. Described recently by FolkandRoots
UK as 'so devilishly talented', they are renowned
for their fine close harmonies and musical arrangements,
and have been likened to many other harmonising siblings
such as The McGarrigle Sisters, The Andrews Sisters
and The Everly Brothers. The Henry Girls have
set 14 Irish dates for 2012, following a successful
summer that included recording a new album, an American
tour and performing backing vocals on Mary Black's latest
record (including one track with Imelda may). They plan
to follow that tour with performances in Germany in
March and another trip to the States in the summer.
They are currently promoting their fourth album 'December
Moon' which can be purchased online at www.thehenrygirls.com and
itunes.
They play the Spirit Store, Dundalk on Sunday 5th February
and will be joined by Ted Ponsonby (dobro) and Denise
Boyle (fiddle, viola, mandolin).
