Since the release of 2005’s Makes Tomorrow Alright
things have gone exceptionally well for Dutch punk power
trio Cooper : A full European tour supporting punk rock
icons Social Distortion as well as a European tour on
their own ( which lead them to countries like France,
Ireland, Germany and Italy ) and three tours in beautiful
South Africa.
Along the way they’ve shared stages with bands
like The Presidents of the USA, Anti-Flag, Fiction Plane,
Uncommonmenfrommars, Electric Eel Shock and Jaya The
Cat.
The whole journey ended at the Source 2 studios in
Cooper’s hometown The Hague, Netherlands to record
Right Now! their fifth release and second on Kung Fu
Records run by Vandals bass player Joe Escalante.
in five days with yet another punk rock legend at the
knobs; none other than Bill Stevenson of Black Flag,
ALL/Descendents and Only Crime fame as well as producer
for numerous rock and punk rock bands such as NoFX,
Rise Against, The Lemonheads and Propaghandi.
According to Mr. Stevenson himself Cooper are the only
band he flies to Europe to record.
You just can’t get a bigger compliment than that,
can you?
Right Now! aims for the perfect song. Short, pointy
pop songs which owe as much to the Beatles as to the
Knack, as much as AC/DC as The Buzzcocks.
It rocks, it rolls and before you know it you can’t
get the songs out of your head for a week.
Right Now! Is out Right Now! Through Kung Fu Records
worldwide except for France and Spain where it will
be released by Kicking Records.
